Marc S. Friedman is a Member of the Firm and Chair of the Intellectual Property Group. He is resident in the Firm's New York office. Formerly of Goodwin Procter, Mr. Friedman brings with him more than thirty years' experience focusing on complex intellectual property and business matters, and intellectual property and technology litigation and appeals, including electronic commerce, patent, copyright, trademark and trade secret matters.

Prior to joining Goodwin Procter, he was a founding partner of Friedman Siegelbaum. Mr. Friedman helped pioneer information technology more than twenty-five years ago when he won the landmark case of Chatlos v. NCR Corporation, one of the most important developments in the history of information technology law.

Mr. Friedman has successfully litigated large national class actions, securities cases, professional malpractice cases, breach of contract and Uniform Commercial Code suits, fraud cases, pension matters, minority stockholder suits and estate matters. He also has litigated Lanham Act matters and provided counseling. He is an arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association and an accomplished trial and appellate lawyer.

Mr. Friedman has published over 100 articles and is the author of A Vendor's Guide to Computer Contracting, a widely read treatise. Mr. Friedman frequently lectures throughout North America, South America, Europe and Australia, and at several law schools throughout the country.

He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America and the Chambers USA Guide to America's Leading Lawyers for Business. He was also named by New Jersey Super Lawyers magazine as being among the top five percent of lawyers in the State. Mr. Friedman is included in the International Who's Who of E-Commerce Lawyers.
