Alan N. Sutin is a Shareholder in the New York office of the international law firm of Greenberg Traurig and serves as Chair of the firm's Global Intellectual Property & Technology Practice. His practice is concentrated in the areas of outsourcing, Internet law, computer law, intellectual property, licensing, advertising, marketing and promotion matters. Alan advises a wide variety of clients in the United States, Europe, Asia and Latin America in connection with outsourcing transactions, online commercial ventures, multimedia electronic publishing, marketing and promotion. He counsels clients on various cutting-edge liability issues facing those doing business on the Internet, including email marketing, electronic commerce, trademark and copyright infringement, domain name disputes, defamation and privacy issues. He also advises computer hardware and software companies in connection with software development transactions, OEM, VAR and Dealer Agreements, outsourcing agreements and information services contracts. In addition, Alan regularly represents major brand owners in large domestic and international licensing transactions, as well as strategic alliances, joint ventures and other arrangements focused on the commercial exploitation of intellectual property assets. Alan has participated in international copyright treaty negotiations at the World Intellectual Property Organization in Geneva, Switzerland, and has advised the Governments of India and Jordan in connection with the adoption of information technology legislation. Alan is a graduate of Emory University and the University of Georgia School of Law. He is the author of numerous articles, is a regular speaker to industry and bar association groups worldwide, and is frequently featured and cited in national newspapers and magazines on legal issues related to the Internet. |
