Jim is a partner in the London office. He has a broad commercial practice,
focussed on technology-rich sectors including IT, media, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. He specialises in non-contentious intellectual property and information technology law.
He has advised on a wide range of IP and IT transactions, including several joint ventures and other long term collaborations. Jim also has experience advising on other arrangements for the exploitation of IP, including licensing deals, advertising and sponsorship agreements, and taking security over IP. In addition, Jim brings specialist IP and IT input to corporate, M&A and finance transactions.
Jim has advised both suppliers and customers on a wide range of outsourcing transactions. He has particular experience of outsourcings in the financial services sector, having advised financial institutions on, amongst other things, outsourcings involving telecommunications, IT and cash-in-transit functions, business process outsourcings and fund administration outsourcings. He has also advised market-leading suppliers on a variety of outsourcing and off-shoring deals.
