After finishing regular law school education, Wolfgang Büchner took special studies in commercial and tax law and acquired 1982 his doctoral degree at the University of Augsburg with a thesis on the "Legal Structuring of Public Enterprises". He practiced law in the United States as a foreign associate with Johnson and Swanson in Dallas, Texas, (1982/1983) before becoming a partner with Strobl, Killius & Vorbrugg in Munich in 1988, one of the founding law firms of Lovells. Already in the mid-eighties Wolfgang had started to establish a specialized "computer law" practice, and has, since then, closely monitored all relevant developments in the IT law arena. Today, Wolfgang is the chairman of the German Society of Law and Information Technology (DGRI) and used to be a member of the board of the US Computer Law Association (ITechLaw) until 2008. He is honorary professor at the Leipniz-University of Hanover and lectures on telecommunications law. He also regularly writes articles and speaks on conferences on topics in the field of IT and media law as well as data protection. Among others he is co-editor and co-author of the book "Successful outsourcing of Business Processes" (Erfolgreiche Auslagerung von Geschäftsprozessen, 2008). Wolfgang's practice focuses on IT projects and outsourcing, IT and IP related aspects of transactions and sports marketing agreements. Recent experiences include:
